The march which commenced from the Large City Hall at 10am was organised by Bulawayo Progressive Residents Association (BPRA). The demonstration was tainted by the brief arrest of the BPRA leadership ended at the ZESA offices along Fife Street. Residents submitted a petition to the ZESA general manager through the Chairperson of the association, Mr Reason Ngwenya.
The demonstration launched the campaign by residents against ZESA under the theme Power to the people. BPRA would like to inform its partners and other stakeholders that the demonstration against ZESA was a great success. Police attempted to block the demonstration but found no avenue to deal with the court order that the association was in possession of.
