Wits coach, Roger de Sa, late last week revealed that Chikwaikwai, who was voted Zimbabwes soccer star of the year and Golden Boot Award winner two years ago, left earlier last week for the FND Coastal stream side.
This is thesecond loan spell for Chikwaikwai who spent the second half of last season on loan at Mozambican club Liga Muculmana.
He left for Cape Town this week and will be at Hanover Park for the rest of this season, de Sa told The Zimbabwean on Sunday during an interview at the Bidvest Stadium last Thursday.
The Mozambican side could not register him for Africa due to some administrative problems that I do not know much about, but when he rejoined us, we already had registered enough foreign players for this season. Instead of just keeping him here, we decided to loan him out so that he gets game time for his possible return for the end of the season, the coach said.
Despite Chikwaikwai failing to make an impression at the Johannesburg club since his move from Zimbabwe s Njube Sundowns, de Sa said the Zimbabwean is still part of Wits plans.
He top scored in Zimbabwe and showed great promise for us here, but was dogged by injuries that kept him out for four months. He is a very good player and I would love to have him back, unless he gets a better offer elsewhere, added de Sa.
Chikwaikwai played 13 games and scored nine goals for Muculmana and de Sa says that shows how good the Zimbabwean is as a striker.
