bulawayo_agendaLupane - Lupane State University was given US$1, 5 million for construction in June 2010. President Mugabe revealed this at the universitys graduation ceremony in Lupane.

However, there is still no sign of construction at the university site. In early October this year, officials at Lupane State University claimed that construction at the site was in full swing. Meanwhile, President Mugabe surprised all and sundry at the ceremony by not talking of party politics. Analysts say this is because he fears being booed by students. His Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education Dr Stanlous Gorerazo Mudenge instead took to the podium and castigated the west for imposing sanctions which have led to the downfall of the education system in the country.
