In an interview from his Kwekwe base, Moyo, affectionately known as Dhewa, said the new piece of work is a reassurance to his fans that he will continue to produce music and perform live shows for as long as he can.
I have been in a battle with this disease, but I am thankful to God that he kept me going and all the people who were there to support, that is the main thrust of the album, he said.
Dhewa was diagnosed with the dangerous Non-Hodgkins lymphoma cancer in 2008 and that came as a serious threat to his music career, but determined as ever, the Utakataka frontman did not let the illness slow him down as he went on to release a six track album that same year.
Dhewa said, unlike his past albums in which he has fused sungura with rhumba, the new package will feature six, pure sungura tracks. The tracks have already been sent to Switzerland for encryption to avoid the illegal copying of music that has threatened the Zimbabwean music industry.
To attract people to buy the original copy, the CD is going to sell at a wholesale price of two dollars, unlike the past eight dollars.
The reduction of the CD price, according to Dhewa, is a result of Grammar Records new acquisition, a machine that can produce 1200 CDs per hour.
According to the musician, one of the songs on the album is entitled Ndinovimba a song for hope, joy and all the positive things that can happen in life. Other songs include Ndiro Yababa, Tsamba Ndakanyora and Ndinobvuma.
