EDITOR - The Zanu (PF) government took SMM Holdings from the owner a couple of years ago, but ever since that time they never made any profits from it. Before SMM holdings becomes a big national debt, give it back to Mutumwa MawereWe understand his business was taken from him because he had externalised a lot of money from Zimbabwe to South Africa during the ZIM Dollar era but honestly speaking he did nothing wrong. Any person during that time went looking for foreign currency outside Zimbabwe. Business people there were left with no option but to buy foreign currency in order for their businesses to survive.
I dont see any reason why Mawere cannot have his business back. What I foresee now is that the tax payers money is going to be used to run SMM holdings because its not making any profits.
The likes of Patrick Chinamasa and Emmerson Mnangagwa must back off SMM Holdings. If there is anyone who can prove that Mutumwa did something wrong then arrest the Central Bank Governor; Ignatius Chombo and the rest of the corrupt Government Ministers who did the same thing during the Zim Dollar Era.
