EDITOR May I, through your columns, ask how on earth the nation is to trust the Ministry of Lands and Rural Resettlement to carry out a fair and un-biased land audit and how dare Minister MurerwaDoes he think that none of us have eyes in our heads or a brain cell in our grey matter. I am outraged by his statement. What does he take us for? And I am NOT a farmer! I do not think that there has been a more destructive policy in this nation than this land debacle and there have been many destructive and witless policies.
I challenge him to put his money where his big mouth is! If the land reform, as he calls it, is truly non-partisan then every Zimbabwean who truly desires to farm must be given equal opportunity to farm and that includes the previous white commercial famers.
The land must be distributed fairly among all who have the means, the know how and the resources to farm and the small scale farmer must be given financial and technical assistance to enable him/her to go forward. The big wigs who strut on their barren, destroyed and under -performing swathes of land should come back to town and continue to mess up the politics of this nation instead of messing up the agriculture that would feed and nurture and give employment to the hungry and suffering Zimbabweans.
I am disgusted! Let farmers farm and let politicians do whatever they do. Do they not care at all for the terrible suffering they have wrought on this nation and especially on the hapless farm worker and his family? They have suffering on their hands. I say enough is enough! We are tired of this land issue. Let it be sorted out once and for all and let Zimbabwe go forward. The land belongs to God, not to a political party! And politicians; please grow up. The nation of Zimbabwe is enough of your puerile, playground antics. You are hurting us. Especially ZPF.
