Headman Ray Madzinza last week fined Chikukwa and Dhumakedu for pasting MDC rally posters in November this year. The rally was later held at Biriri Business Centre.
The two MDC youths were shocked last week when the headman summoned them and told them to pay US$15 each for publicising the rally. They refused to pay and the heaman made a report to the police. The police from Cashel Valley Police Station later summoned Chikukwa and Dhumakedu and the two were interrogated for about five hours only to be discharged with no charges levelled against them.
Meanwhile, the MDC run, Matobo Rural District Council in Matebeleland North province, has resolved to reduce its 2011 council budget by 49 percent. Council chairperson, Washie Sibanda said the decision was reached in order to cushion residents and ratepayers from needless hikes. Clr Sibanda said the reduction would however, not affect the quality of service delivery.
Together, united, winning, ready for real change!
