Takavadiyi lamented complacency on the part of MDC youths who did not bother to participate in national elections as they took for granted that Tsvangirai and his party would easily defeat Mugabe and Zanu (PF), even without their input.
Youths, especially recent school leavers, who make up a significant MDC support base, should acquire relevant identification documentation and determine their future through the ballot. Seventy percent of MDC supporters are youths, and it is disturbing to realize that half of them have not acquired national identification particulars necessary to register as voters. This time around they must play their role towards determining MDC as clear winner in elections, said Takavadiyi.
He urged youths to rally behind Morgan Tsvangirai, as MDC was the only formidable and party of the future.
Youths were mainly used as tools for perpetuating violence by Zanu (PF) and were not encouraged to vote as Mugabe realised they would vote MDC, he added.
Reports that there were serious divisions within MDC were wild imaginations by enemies of democracy bent on denying Zimbabweans their fair share of the national cake. Agents of such propaganda could temporarily delay democracy but eventually MDC would rule the country through popular vote. The electorate was given the opportunity to evaluate MDC government and party officials through GPA. No one in his right mind would want to be governed by Zanu (PF) anymore. The MDC has managed to resuscitate the country from ruin in less than two years. Imagine what would become of the country if MDC was to administer affairs of the country for the next 30 years, Takavadiyi said.
MDC structures in Murewa North remain intact despite sporadic terror campaigns on Tsvangirais followers by Zanu (PF) and its violence machinery.
No form of intimidation should cow the electorate from supporting a party of their choice. Even the enemies of MDC are benefitting from good governance by Tsvangirai and his team He commended NGOs such as ZimRights, Crises in Zimbabwe Coalition and Centre for Community Development Zimbabwe (CCDZ) for standing up to Zanu (PF) intimidation and educating youths about the importance of taking part in constitution-making.

MUREWA - The majority of youthful MDC supporters based in the rural areas, who remain undocumented and ineligible to vote, could wield the decisive vote in national elections, MDC-T Youth District Chairperson Murewa North, Brighton Takavadiyi, has said.
