Binga As per their warning before the end of 2010, Police in Binga have started banning public meetings.
The meetings are banned in spite of of their agendas. Recently, police tried to stop a developmental meeting in Lusulu where villagers had gathered to consult on a dam that is supposed to be built. most organisations working in Matabeleland North are facing challenges of holding public meetings as the police are refusing to clear and give them permission to hold their meetings.
Plumtree The business community in Plumtree has been accused of neglecting the infrastructure of the town while funding political activities. Residents singled out Spar Plumtree saying the owner are reported to be sponsoring a ZANU PF activity that is due to be held soon. Residents have declared that if Spar-Plumtree continues to bank roll Zanu PF they shall stop buying from the store.
Lupane Traditional leaders in Lupane have vowed to be apolitical. The over forty traditional leaders admitted that they have been used before to drive political agendas and now want to serve their communities in a non partisan manner. They made these vows at Gandangule School where there was a Public Meeting organized by Lupane Agenda. The traditional leaders explained that their duties and roles include working together with the whole community regardless of what political party they belong too.
