HARARE - An arts and culture directory of Zimbabwe has been launched, sponsored by the Spanish Embassy in Harare and in collaboration with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and the Culture Fund.The Spanish Embassy has funded the directory with the aim of providing a fundamental tool of communication for all the cultural agents working with Zimbabwe, domestically, regionally and internationally.
It is reported that a digital version of the directory will not only help to increase the visibility of Zimbabwe’s arts beyond its boarders, but will also ensure that important changes experienced within the dynamic sector will be reflected in future directories in a cost-effective manner.
The embassy has also inaugurated its cultural centre and library. According to Marina Garcia, Cultural Attache, with the initiative, the Embassy wants to create a venue which can become an excellent meeting point, a training centre and a place of exchange for the diverse cultural trends and agents of Zimbabwe and Spain.
