Francis says Miss Zim Diamond will raise the profile of talented Zimbabwean women and attract tourism and investment into Zimbabwe and the UK. Auditions began last year and will continue throughout the UK in order to get the best contestants going through to the final event.
The contest has been officially endorsed by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority. The winner and her first princess will be allowed to enter the Miss Zimbabwe contest in 2012, allowing them to have a shot at competing on the global arena either at Miss World, Miss Tourism International or Miss Universe. There will also be an exchange programme for the winners between Zimbabwe and the UK.
We are passionate about flying the flag of Zimbabwe in the Diaspora and creating awareness of the beauty and talent Zimbabwe has to offer as a people and a country. There is strong brand recognition of Econet by people across Africa, especially in Zimbabwean and its a privilege to have Econet on board as we see them as an African success story, and inspiration to young entrepreneurs, said Francis. – Interested applicants should register at: www.misszimdiamond.com
