David Chifunyise bounces back

HARARE Forgotten urban grooves pioneer David Chifunyise is back with a new album that is likely to push him to the top of the Urban Grooves charts.

The brand new album called Art, hit the streets last week and some of the tracks are already a hit on Power FM. It is a very special album for me because I came up with a unique sound. I took a lot of time on the project. As usual I hope that the fans will receive the new material on this album, said Chifunyise.

The potentially explosive album includes the all time hit Tauya Naye, which dominated the airwaves in the early 2000s. Other popular tracks include Sarudzai and Maheu among others. In an interview, Chifunyise said the album also featured some gospel tunes.

It is a special album to all my fans because I have been away from music for quite some time now. I have therefore not forgotten my fans and I have decided to come up with this new offering, he said.Chifunyise specializes in computer technology. He said he worked on a database and software that will prevent the album from being pirated.

Piracy has become a cancer. I have worked on some databases and software to prevent the album from being pirated. I think this is the best way forward that all Zimbabwean musicians should do, said Chifunyise.
