Who authorised you to destroy forests at this rate? It is a criminal conduct to cut down trees without authority from responsible authorities. In fact who allocated this land to you? an environmental management officer identified as Gwatidzo challenged a tractor driver from Muringisi A2 Plot last Friday.

Gwatidzo reportedly threatened to seize the tractor.

The party youths admitted that they could not till the land due to lack of both skills and resources. They resorted to indiscriminate cutting down of Msasa trees to sell for a profit.

Illegal cutting down of trees is a chargeable criminal offence carrying a fine of US$$300 per tree.
