Masango wins Mutare Grand Prix

Spencer Masango won the just ended Mutare Chess Grand Prix.

He was tied on the first position with Heath Darare .both had 6 points from 7 games of play.Robert Gwaze was shocked by Albert Maketo of Bindura when he lost to him.He then drew against Masango in the final round.This resulted in him coming third with 5,5 points.Hamilton Mandeya and Bismarck Bhobhojani also had 5,5 points.Rueben Muza,Elisha Thabo,Gift Sithole and Anesu Masimba had 5 points.Best local players were: Apollo Mpangeri and Simba Mutara.Lona Ndudzo was the best lady.Anesu Masimba was the best scholar while D.Chivinda was the second best.Elton Mhangarayi was the tournament Director.Mr Kuwaza presented the prizes with his wife to the winners.He said the next Grand Prix is scheduled for Gweru.
