Mugabe to be hanged in London

The London demonstration will see Mugabe hanged from one of the maple trees outside the Embassy in protest at his decision to send Zimbabwean troops to support besieged Libyan President Gaddafi.

Organisers of Tuesdays Harare protest, called the Zimbabwe Million Citizen March, seek to echo the Middle East protests and gather in Harare Gardens from 11 am but reports say that Zimbabwean security forces are already there in force.

The London demonstration is organised by the Zimbabwe Vigil which has been protesting outside the Zimbabwe Embassy every Saturday since October 2002 in support of human rights in Zimbabwe.

Date & time: Tuesday 1st March from 11 am 1 pm.

Venue: Zimbabwe Embassy, 429 Strand, London WC2R 0JR.

Scenario: Zimbabwean in a Mugabe mask will be shown being hanged by people wearing bandanas reading Robert Mugabe for the sake of Zimbabwe: Please hang on.

Vigil Co-ordinators

The Vigil, outside the Zimbabwe Embassy, 429 Strand, London, takes place every Saturday from 14.00 to 18.00 to protest against gross violations of human rights by the current regime in Zimbabwe. The Vigil which started in October 2002 will continue until internationally-monitored, free and fair elections are held in Zimbabwe. http://www.zimvigil.co.uk
