Old mans days are numbered

Mugabe`s health is now an economic liability and he really needs to seriously reconsider his wish to continue in office, let alone put himself as a candidate in the forthcoming election. He is being cruel to himself just as he has been to the people of Zimbabwe for the past 30 years.

Zimbabwe`s fiscus is still too weak to afford six medical staff on call all the time just to attend to one old man who has outlived his economic life anyway. To make matters worse, he also travels with an entourage of around 60 people for his security.

Who do you think in their right frame of mind would want to assassinate that 87-year-old despot dictator who is nearing the end of his natural life, God will soon take him anyhow. Now with the closely guarded secret of his advanced prostate cancer in the media, now we all know that cancer is a terminal illness and anyone who is unfortunate to get it, will surely die, its a mater of when not if. Whether one is accompanied by six medics, flown to Singapore or Malaysia, taken into state of the art hospital, attended to by the world`s best physicians or taken to Murambinda hospital for treatment, the end result, if it is cancer is the same.

Even if George Charamba lies to the nation that it is Grace Mugabe who has caused the recent trip to Singapore for a hip operation, the truth is there to see. I wonder if George Charamba is still going to say that it is Grace Mugabe who has died when the old man finally gives in.

Mugabe`s health is also being made worse by events happening to his comrades in repression. Any dictator who is watching what is happening to Mugabe`s accomplices in crime will have shivers down his spine.

Mugabe is being held to ransom by the security chiefs. He has got very little room to make informed choices. The JOC is the reason why Mugabe is still the `president` of this country, they are the ones who forced him to stay in office when he dismally lost the March 2008 election.

The moment Mugabe leaves the scene, its going to be the end of Zanu (PF). Mugabe knows if he leaves there is going to be power struggle within his already disintegrating party. The ex- Zapu man, John Nkomo will be finished, maybe he will join Dumiso Dabengwa in Zapu or form another PF Zapu. This, Mugabe knows will be the end of his 1987 Unity Accord and the two Mashonaland camps will then start their bloody campaigns for the control of Zanu (PF) and the control of the country. So as these two Mashonaland camps know that Mugabe cannot continue to dodge the coffin forever, they are busy looting the national resources in preparation for their bloody campaigns when Mugabe goes. Who doesnt know that the Mujurus and the Mnangagwas are some of the richest within Zanu (PF)?

So Mugabe`s health is a cause for concern for the whole Zanu (PF), because if he dies or leaves office before the succession battle is sorted out, that is the end of the party, and the end of the marriage of convenience with the MDC.
