Gwaze salvages a draw against Short

HARARE - International Master Robert Gwaze salvaged a draw against Nigel Short, the British Grand Master who once challenged Garry Kasparov in a World Championship chess match.

He drew this game at the CUCA BGI Tournament in Luanda, Angola. Another Zimbabwean taking part was Kudzamai Mamombe, who drew against two Grand Masters before losing to Gwaze. Meanwhile all is set for the ZITISU games to be held in Masvingo next week

UZ will have to battle it out with MSU and technical colleges as well as teachers colleges in this tourney. The date for the Masvingo Grand Prix has been rescheduled for June 4 and 5.
