Sithole leads race for Goal Scorer Award

HARARE - CAPS United hitman Simba Sithole is leading the race for the Top Goal Scorer of the Month award after netting an incredible five goals between March and April.

The award will be presented to the player who scored the highest number of goals between the start of the season up to April 24. And Sithole who scored a hat-trick in his team’s 5-3 demolition of Zimbabwe Saints before scoring again in the 5-2 win over Shooting Stars and in the 4-0 routing of Shabanie Mine is set to clinch the prize before the end of the month. According to PSL chief executive Kennedy Ndebele, the awards will be presented before the end of this month.

His closest rivals include team mate Pride Tafirenyika and Zimbabwe Saints’ Beaven Chikaka who have four goals each while Platinum FC’S Charles Sibanda, Blue Ribbon’s Daniel Kamunenga and Highlanders Njabulo Ncube are on three goals each.

The Chicken Inn duo of Canaan Nkomo and Thomas Chimenya also have scored three goals in during the same period.

The player of the month and the goalkeeper of the month are also set to get the awards.
