Dynamos midfielder Archieford Gutu is set to lead the Young Warriors for the All-Africa Games first leg qualifier against South Africa on Saturday after Ajax Cape Town refused to release star midfielder Khama Billiat.

The Young Warriors were set to leave on Wednesday. Billiat, who was impressive in the Warriors game against Mali two weeks ago, had been included in the squad.

But hopes of getting him for the Young Warriors match were dashed after Ajax asked him to report for pre-season preparations today.

Apart from Billiart, the Young Warriors will be without Knowledge Musona and Ovidy Karuru.

However, Zimbabwe Under-23 coach Friday Phiri said this week he would bank on the players available after the loss of key players.

"It's a major set back to lose Billiart. He has been in our plans but we will rely on those available. The good thing is that we have Archieford Gutu back in the squad after serving his suspension. Our aim is to go there and win," said Phiri.

There have been doubts over Gutu's availability after the midfielder sustained an ankle injury which kept him out of the match against Blue Ribbon.

But he was back on duty to play for Dynamos in the capital derby against CAPS United at the weekend. The Young Warriors will also be boosted by the presence of Ajax Cape Town midfielder Tafadzwa "Fire" Rusike. The South African club has no problems with Rusike playing for the Young Warriors but want Billiart for pre-season training.
