Reports are filtering through that all night pungwes are being held by Zanu (PF) where MDC members are publically flogged.
Moses Shambare told The Zimbabwean he was forced to attend part of a pungwe recently in Zvimba East. He added that JOMIC appeared to ignore the illegal rallies.
Speaking from Harare, MDC political liason officer for JOMIC, Lovemore Kadenga, said news of ‘pungwes’ had not reached him, but that the JOMIC would act if it did.
"It is our duty to help Zimbabweans have an environment without violence and intimidation so they can have free and fair elections," he said.
