Another interesting player note was young Kudakwashe Zimbowa.in the women section Colletta Wakuruwarehwa walloped all her opponents to pocket a cool four hundred dollars pushing Rhoda Masiyazi the tournament favourite to second position with 8 points out of 9 games of play. Rhoda pocketed a cool three hundred dollars.
Meanwhile in a National scholars chess championship held from the 4th-8th of August Harare Province won a floating shield. Bulawayo came second followed by Mash West,Masvingo was fourth,Midlands came fifth, Mash East sixth, Mash Central seventh, Mat South, Mat North and Manicaland completed the list.
