The cash-rich FC Platinum are enjoying themselves at the summit of the league table, where they are joint leaders with Motor Action with 42 points from 22 games in the campaign so far.
And coach Rahman Gumbo will be hoping to maintain his lead with a win over CAPS United.
However, playmaker Charles Sibanda, who has been the driving force behind FC Platinum's league campaign, said it would be a tough match. He admitted their aim was to maintain their lead and said that would be difficult against United – who are also eager to come back into contention following a bad patch experienced before the arrival of Lloyd Chitembwe.
"We are aware this is a massive game for us. It will be important for us to win this match because at this stage you need to take advantage and win all your home matches. We need to maintain our lead at the top.
Any slip up at this stage could cost us in the end. But it will not be easy against CAPS United. They know they still have a chance to contest for the championship. If you look at their recent games they have picked up their form," said Sibanda.
United are now under the guidance of Lloyd Chitembwe who replaced Maxwell Jongwe who was sacked following a spate of dreadful results.
"Psychologically they have an advantage because they are at the top of the league table. But we are prepared to face them. I am happy we do not have injury worries and I hope the players will give their best," said Chitembwe.
