Speaking to The Zimbabwean, the former left footed player spoke highly of his team and his aim to play in the ABSA Premiership if he gets the support of the Free State inhabitants next season.

“My team constitutes of young potential players and I am aiming higher with them this team. With the community support, we are going to be promoted soon to the premiership; nothing is going to stop us from reaching our destiny as a team.”

Born 40 years ago in Harare, Mugeyi started his career at Black Aces where he earned his first cap for the Gold and Black boys at 19. He only played four seasons for the side, and in 1993 at an age of 23 he was snatched by South African Premiership outfit uMthatha Bush Bucks, where he played alongside his twin brother Wilfred.

His career at Bush Bucks spanned more than a decade and when his club was faced with financial problems he retired from soccer. He has also been involved in some community activities in Eastern Cape.

This is the second time Mugeyi is with Carara Kicks. He left them two seasons ago when he was appointed Black Buburn Rovers coach in Eastern Cape Region and re-joined them towards the end of the last season.
