A suicide bomb blast rocked the UN compound in the Nigerian capital last Friday, killing at least 18 people. Nigerian authorities blamed the attack on Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram.

Earlier in the day he had met Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan at his official residence to brief him on the political situation in Zimbabwe.

Tsvangirai and his entourage left Abuja for Ivory Coast in the evening. He is expected to meet Alassane Dramane Ouattara, the Ivorian who became president early this year following the ouster of Laurent Gbagbo.

“The Prime Minister is proceeding to Ivory Coast to meet with President Quattara to brief him on the situation in the country. He will also take time to celebrate with the people of Ivory Coast the return of full legitimacy to a government that was voted into power by Ivorians,” said Tamborinyoka.
