Super8r Cup triumph for Motor Action

Motor Action assistant coach David George says their victory over Highlanders which saw them winning the BancABCSuper8r Cup at the weekend is an early christmas present for them.

"We are all happy to lift this cup. It was a difficult match and Highlanders played well but we took our chance and won the match,” George said.

“This victory will boost the confidence of the players as we focus on the league title race.” Midfielder Allan Gahadzikwa was the hero for the Mighty Bulls after scoring the priceless goal that helped his team win the trophy for the first time. The Mighty Bulls pocketed a cool $50 000 for winning the trophy while Highlanders got $20 000 for reaching the final.

Neither of the two teams had won the BancABCSuper8r cup since its inception.

Dynamos won last year's edition but were booted out by Motor Action this time round after losing a dramatic penalty shoot 6-7 in the semi-finals.
