Former President thanks President Sata and government for facilitating his travel to Gabon

Former President Rupiah Banda has thanked President Sata and government for facilitating his travel to Gabon to go and watch the Africa Cup of nations finals. Mr Banda says he is grateful for the gesture.

The former President also says that he is happy with the unity exhibited by Zambians as the national team impressed at the Africa Cup of nations. Mr Banda was speaking at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport this morning before departure for Libreville, Gabon to watch on Sunday night final.

Meanwhile, first Republican President Dr Kenneth Kaunda has predicted a 2 -1 win for Zambia in tonight’s Africa Cup of nations final. Dr Kaunda was speaking on Sunday morning before departure for the final against Ivory Coast. The two former Presidents left on the same flight.

And Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Zhou yo Xiao has thanked Chinese company’s in Zambia for chartering a plane with 100 fans. Zambian soccer fans before departure for Gabon at Kenneth kaunda International airport.

Meanwhile, Vice President Guy Scott is in the Gabonese capital Libreville ahead of ON Sunday night Africa Cup final between Zambia and Ivory Coast.
