Nyahora takes aim

Rutendo Nyahora, who came out third in last week’s Two Oceans Marathon, has set her sights on winning next week’s $6000 Spar Women’s 10 Kilometre Challenge in Cape Town. “I am in good shape and confident of my chances. It is a 10-km race, which is my best track event,” she said from Pretoria.

“I am happy to have finished in the top three because that was my goal for this year. The conditions of the race were really bad, after the organisers changed the course. It was more difficult that I am used to and the fact that I am short made it tougher.”

Nyahora has hit top form in recent months, having won the season-opening BestMed Tuks Marathon in record-breaking fashion of 34 min 34 sec in February.
