Follow democracy Charter: SA

South Africa has called on fellow African countries to conduct themselves within the confines of the Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance, introduced by the Pan-African Parliament.

International Relations Minister, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, said while opening the recent Second Pan-African Parliament in Johannesburg that the Charter, aimed at improving political, economic and social governance, was vital for African growth.

“It is our responsibility as the political leadership to create and foster enabling conditions for the socio-economic upliftment of our respective countries,” she said.
