I am a 24-year-old lady who is so close to her boss. My boss who is also female likes me so much. She is the kind of woman who wants to groom me to a better professional. We are close in the office and outside. We sometimes go out for lunch together and she treats me as her little sister. The problem is the other workers who are so jealous of me and they spread gossip in the office. Should I confront them? – Dee

Do not care much about what people say. People will always say something behind your back and you need to accept that. You cannot stop them and their talking will not stop you from flying high in life. The issue is maintaining a good relationship with your boss and make sure that it will not affect your working relationship. There is nothing wrong with being close to your boss, but you need to know where to draws the line. It may affect your career in a good as well in a bad way. Maintain the respect you are expected of to your boss and you will be fine. Do not take advantage of that good relationship to perform badly but take advantage of it to ask for guidance from your boss lady.
Concentrate on things that help you do better in life and not on what people are saying about you. Don’t let it worry you and leave them to say what they want. They will come to accept your relationship with your boss and appreciate the work that you do. – Aunty Lisa
