Currently, Totem Shumba Estate consists of three related operations as follows: wrought iron metal studio where all the design and manufacturing of all the wrought iron ornaments, decorative furniture , accents etc. takes place, Totem Shumba Lifestyle – the first shop to be opened selling all on-site manufactured wrought iron products and heirlooms, the collectables gallery selling all things collectible from all over the world, including bigger, bespoke, once-off and more pricey wrought items manufactured in the metal studio.
Future plans include more owner-managed shops by the producing artists, accommodation and conference centre. Totem Shumba Estate employs 6 multi-skilled-estimators/welders/painters, 2 shop assistants, 4 sales and marketing agents, 1 marketing and production assistant, 1 administrators, 2 multi-purpose cleaners/helpers.
For the Afro-chic aficionado, Totem Shumba’s attractiveness lies in the display of incredible wrought designs dressed or accessorized with pieces from different parts of Africa and Asia. You will find collectables from Nigeria, Ghana, Congo, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Namibia Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and India just to name a few – a journey that would take you across this multi-cultural, multi-coloured and multi-textured continents.
Every room at the shop presents treasures that tell an array of stories with wrought iron designs as the principal character. Scatter cushions, Namibian and Spanish granite, wood, glass, mirrors, lamps, candles are amongst the many items that are juxtaposed with expertly designed wrought iron furniture and accents.
