
“The majority of athletes who won medals at the games where below 25 years of age and this gives relevant authorities time to reflect, keep the current crop of athletes together and also identify new blood to represent the country,” said Nyasango, who finished seventh at the London Olympic Games.
He said there was much talent, but funding remained a major talent in developing it for world-class competitions. “If funds were availed now in preparation for the next Olympics, we would bring many medals home,” added the Harmony Gold Running Club athlete.
