Farewell to yet another great ex Zimbabwe farmer Bob Cocker, (‘Dagga boy” of note) How he loved his fishing on the

Zambezi with the other Dagga boys!

A good, honest, modest man with integrity, who loved his family, friends, fishing and his farm. When he lost his farm in Mutepatepa like so many with everything he owned, his two sons working on the farm headed for Zambia.

A farm in Mukushi was established which middle son Zingi took over later, and Brian the eldest, Jo and the 3 kids went back to Zimbabwe after a couple of years. Youngest son

Stephen, Shannon and their two kids first leased a farm in Mazbuka, for a year then worked for another farmer in the area for three years growing row crops, before moving to Kalomo /Choma area leasing a tobacco farm.

Despite all the other things Bob did in those “wandering years” he was happiest when he helped Stephen grow his first two years of tobacco, and then helping Brian back in Zimbabwe to get back into tobacco growing. Zingi was next on the list this year to help impart his help and knowledge, again to grow tobacco but sadly this was not to be.

Forty one years of happily married life with Karin, three sons Brian, Zingi, Stephen and

Suzie. (late laamatjie) Five loved grand children and many friends, he was a great man who inspired all whom he met and will be sorely missed.
