De Jonge finishes fourth at CIMA Classic

Zimbabwe’s Brendon De Jonge finished fourth at the Cima Classic which attracted a top class field including former world number one Tiger Woods.

The Zimbabwean was level for fourth with Woods as well as Chris Kirk to take home a cool $265 000. Nick Watney won the competition after hitting a total of 262 for a cash prize of $1 300 000.

De Jonge who has taken over from the likes of Nick Price and Mark McNulty as one of Zimbabwe’s flag bearers on the PGA tour finished with a total of 265 after hitting 68, 65, 66, and 66 in the four day event.

De Jonge was denied of a third placing after a joint second Bo Van Pelt and Robert Garrigus.

This year, De Jonge is 39th on the top money list with a total of $1,965, 797. The Zimbabwean is also ranked the 95th top golfer in the world.

De Jonge has had one top three finishes and also has a four top 10 finishes with his best placing being second at the Justin Timberlake Shrines.

Born in Harare on 18 July 1980, De Jonge turned professional in 2003 and has a career earning of $7, 103 000.
