ZOC hosts Lesotho interns

The Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC) has been afforded another opportunity to host a high profile activity on the Olympic schedule.

Two interns from the Lesotho's NOC, Finance Manager Moliehi Malokotsa-Ntjana and the Acting Project Manager Pulumo Nchakha arrived in Harare on Sunday. They will be attached to the ZOC until November17.

According to ZOC, the major purpose of the visit is to afford the interns an opportunity to appreciate and derive benefits from how the local comittee operates and conducts business.

"The internship is designed to leverage strategic and operational experiences between the two NOCs while in the process ensuring efficient and effective management of ZOC Business operations. The focus areas identified by NOC Lesotho are those of general administration, financial management and management of Olympic Solidarity programmes," said ZOC Chief Anna Mguni.

"The programme is funded by Olympic Solidarity and it aims to promote and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience between NOCs. ZOC is held in high regard by Olympic Solidarity as one of the model NOCs in Africa having, since 2006, coached interns from Botswana, Liberia, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Somalia and Swaziland."

The exchange is an opportunity to provide technical advice and share information on site with critical areas of management and administration being covered and handled practically for the Coachee NOC participants to observe and adopt.

The interns will have an opportunity to interface with key ZOC stakeholders including the Ministry of Education, Sport Art and Culture, Sport and Recreation Commission. The exchange programme also provides an opportunity to showcase Zimbabwe and the interns will be provided with opportunity to see and experience warm Zimbabwean hospitality.
