The Chairperson and founding member of the organisation, Teveraishe Tivafukidze, told The Zimbabwean recently that Club Six was established to help disadvantaged but academically talented pupils. “Most of these pupils are academically brilliant but financially disadvantaged.
The late Dorset clinic nurse, Constance Mutoriti, and I decided to pool our resources and form Club Six in May 2011.” He said Club Six had so far managed to help eight primary school pupils by paying their fees, adding that his organisation intended to extend the assistance to high school level.
Club Six Secretary, Chriswell Kasambarare, said: ‘’We want to develop a grinding mill, poultry project and school tuck-shops. We hope to empower beneficiaries to be self-reliant.”
Kasambarare is a local health inspector at the Dorset Clinic and appealed to donors to lend their support to the Club Six initiative.
