AFCON

The 2013 AFCON showpiece is surely a big yawn. I have found it less interesting than the past tournaments. Even South Africans themselves, who are hosting, are not even excited about it. -Sean Revai, Chitungwiza.

I am a great sympathizer of the Zambian coach. He is very good. He led the country to a well-deserved AFCON Cup victory last time. I am afraid his team is not showing any promises to retain the title. I hope the Zambian F.A will not fire him after South Africa. -Vincent Muperera, Avondale.

Ethiopia has been looking good in their group and promising to go far in the tournament, but their 4-0 defeat last week usurped my confidence in them. -Artwell, Glen View.

When I watch Ivory Coast play, I see a team with enough big names to win the AFCON, but they are not united enough. It seems each player is out to seek individual glory. If only they could play well as a team, then they caould do wonders. -Zuze, Mufakose.

ZIFA

May ZIFA please start preparing for the next Afcon tournament. It takes being prepared well in time not your usual last minute rush. There are very good coaches in Zimbabwe and they need to be given time to scout skilled and committed players in time, camp and have some friendly matches for the experience. -Wallace Tapera, Milton Park.

Dynamos

DeMbare is the Manchester United of the Zimbabwean premier soccer league. They are favored by the referees. Remember the year that ref called Chapfika resigned, he confessed he was a great lover of DeMbare. What can one get from such a referee in charge of such games like the Harare derby or the battle of the citiesg? -Donald Muparati, Tynwald.

I want to wish Dynamos all the best in the Champions League. Make us proud boys. -Eric BaRopa, Masvingo.
