At Makoni Shopping Centre, voters said the queue was moving fast. Polling agents told The Zimbabwean they were managing to clear over 100 people every 30 minutes.

At Seke 11 Primary School in Unit N, ward 23, people were voting at four different classrooms to speed up the process. According to polling agents, only eight people had been turned away since they started the voting at 07:05am. Names of those turned away were not on the voters’ roll.

“Otherwise the voting is progressing well and we hope to clear the queue before the deadline,” said one of the polling officers.

Observers who refused to be identified, said they were generally pleased with the voting process, since it was so far peaceful.
