Ndoro is Aces’ “Messiah”

Red-hot Zimbabwe national team striker, Tendai Ndoro, remains the biggest hope for the league survival of relegation-haunted Absa Premiership side, Mpumalanga Black Aces.

The club is not doing well in the league this season, but that they are positioned 11th on the league and still within safety with just six games to go can largely be traced to Ndoro’s ever-green performance. His contribution to the team’s little success thus far – which came via six wins and eight draws, has been through seven goals and a number of assists.

He said this week that he was still unchanged in his resolve to play good football even after the recent chop to former coach, Clive Barker, who was replaced by technical advisor Jacob Sakala as caretaker coach at the club.

“I have remained the same under different coaches largely because there has been nothing really new to the team’s training sessions, as Sakala has always been with us, although he didn’t sit in the bench in our official games under Barker,” said Ndoro.

“I am still happy with my form and I enjoy every moment on the pitch, but our priority is to avoid relegation and with a bit of luck, end in the Top 8.”

The Warriors striker vowed to keep on working hard, with his ultimate personal aim being that of snatching the Golden Boot award, something he believed was still within reach, should he manage to score in each of their six remaining games.
