Anti-hijack update for December 2015

The Antihijack Trust would like to wish all its readers and support team a very Merry Christmas and let’s hope that the New Year bring us health, happiness and a bumper 2016.

hi-jacking-hot-spot-in-south-africaPlease be very aware whilst travelling over the festive season on the rules of the road and be very aware of the Road blocks …. It has been noted that these are manned by police that are desperate for money come what may and will argue their word against yours.  Have the numbers of the superiors at hand if you need them they are all available on the handy notes handed out by Big Sky.  Maybe have a copy of the High Way Code to prove the amber lights ruling as it seems there is a dispute at times.  The best idea is to invest in a dashcam that rules out all discrepancies that may occur !

DO NOT drink and drive ..  let’s try keeping the roads and highways to all corners of Zimbabwe safe.  Please remember you are not the only car on the road and be courteous and respectful to all drivers around you. YES … that includes YOU …..

Keep all vehicles locked in public parking areas and keep all items including shopping out of view there is definitely an increase of theft at this time of the year.

DO NOT carry large sums of money on you if at all possible

There will be a large Police presence on the highways and roads so do make sure you have all the necessary items and documents  in easy access if required.

All alarms and security checked and in place, all valuable items in the home locked out of view and all domestic animals well cared for. There seems to be daily reports of lost and found pets … this is so stressful for them and you

Let’s all make a difference this season …….

Let’s ALL fight this crime together  – stay ALERT and SAFE !
