The pastor is the convenor of #thisflag campaign which brought zimbabwe to a standstill last week. His call for another job stay away today and tomorrow appears to have been heeded by the few Zimbabweans who are still employed.
Mawarire was due to appear in court this morning after his arrest yesterday. He was brought to court but the police took him back into custody before the trial began. It is believed he has been taken back to harare central police station. However, we have not been able to independently verify this.
Promise Mkwananzi of the #Tajamuka campaign addressed the people outside the courts urging them not to use violence.
It is not clear at this stage whether police are going to bring Mawarire back to court later today.
