ZimPF UK and Europe province spokesman, Killian Mwanaka, told NewZimbabwe.com that the meetings mirror a similar process underway in Zimbabwe where interim party leader Joice Mujuru has already addressed rallies in Bulawayo and Harare.

Mwanaka said the party’s UK and Europe province has since held meetings in Birmingham and Leicester with the next one scheduled for Leeds on Saturday, July 2.

“All members of Zimbabwe People First UK and Europe (province) are kindly invited to come to the People First Europe province`s third regional meeting in Leeds. Members are encouraged to bring friends and family,” Mwanaka said in a statement to party members.

“In Zimbabwe, People First rallies are currently under way in all 10 provinces and, as of today, (interim leader Joice Mujuru) has addressed well-attended rallies in Harare and Bulawayo.

“Builders in Europe and UK, it’s time we put (aside) our petty political differences and converge in large numbers. Let us mirror what is happening in Zimbabwe.”

Mujuru formed ZimPF after being hounded out of the ruling Zanu PF party over allegations she was plotting a coup against President Robert Mugabe.

Several ministers and other senior Zanu PF officials were also fired from government and the ruling party for allegedly backing the former vice president’s claimed bid to topple Mugabe.

Mujuru has denied the allegations and, while addressing supporters in Harare recently, challenged the Mugabe to prosecute.

She said the fact she has not been arrested since her ouster proves there was no substance to the charges which included allegations of grand corruption with Mugabe’s wife Grace the principal accuser.
