The prayer, code named #Mugabemustfall, according to Mugadza, will be held at the Africa Unity Square where “pastors from different denominations will be taking turns to lead”.

“We are going to stage a 40 day prayer calling for the falling of President Mugabe and his government starting on 1 July until the 9th of August” Mugabdza told NewZimbabwe.com in Harare, Wednesday.

He added, “Venue for the launch of the national prayer is Africa Unity Square, and we will be holding prayers from 1700hrs to 1800 hrs every day where different pastors will take turns in leading the prayers until the 40th day.”

Mugadza, who was in December last year arrested for staging a solo demonstration during the Zanu PF national conference in Victoria Falls, said they will open the anti-Mugabe campaign with praying for unity and peace.

“The first week of his campaign is going to be a week of repentance, as individuals for doing things which we have done which are evil. These include corruption, abductions, greediness and spirit of power hunger which is in our leadership.”

“We have deliberately chosen to hold this national prayer up to Heroes holidays,  hoping  and praying  that the President is going to do the honourable , that is announcing his stepping down on the Heroes Day ,if he is a true hero,” said the controversial pastor.

“We are calling on likeminded pastors and churches to join us from their areas to serve the people and this process should not be treated as a church but a national thing.

“We have been misinterpreting the scriptures when we were praying for the leaders. We have been saying God help our leaders and now they have proved beyond reasonable doubt that they have failed and it is high time to pray them out,” he said.

Mugadza said companies and individuals should also join the planned exercise.

“Flags should fly at half-mast because Zimbabwe is bleeding and we are in pain.

“Companies should not invite government to their functions as a way of protesting against the falling economy,” he said.
