renamo2The health centres in Garagua and Maco in Mossurize district, and Mussianhalo and Chuala in Barue district have been forced to close as continued military action by the Renamo fighters has led to residents fleeing for the relative safety of the district headquarters.

According to the Manica Provincial Health Director, Juvenaldo Amos, the closures directly affect five thousand people.

Amos was speaking on Wednesday during his provincial directorate’s Coordinating Council which is taking place at Cafumpe in the district of Gondola. He added that his staff have also had to abandon these areas until the situation returns to normal.
