Chigumba new ZEC chair| LATEST
Justice Priscilla Chigumba has been appointed the new Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) Chairperson.
Comments
A new ZEC chair is a start ,but the AU and SADAC should insist that they appoint some credible retired Judges with experience in Electoral Processes as oversight over the whole registration and electoral administration. They after all have allowed a military coup to take place in Zimbabwe without sanctioning those involved.Zimbabwe’s elections have a history of violence, corruption and vicious intimidation .So if these two bodies truly want to see free and fair elections in Zimbabwe where the citizens truly and peacefully express their choice of leaders ,insist that these measures are put in place now to give some meaning to “Opration Restore Legacy” to the citizens of Zimbabwe both @ home AND THE DIASPORA
