Award winning Gweru business-woman ventures into pharmaceuticals

Award winning Gweru business-woman, Smelly Dube, who was the biggest winner at the Women’s Business and Leadership Awards held in Harare early this year, has veentured into pharmaceuiticals industry saying she wants to support locals to have healthy lives.

 The  River Valley Properties Chief Executive Officer Dr Smelly Dube excelled at the Women’s Business and Leadership Awards held y at the Meikles Hotel in Harare early this year where she scooped three prizes.  She won the Lifetime Achievement Awards, Philanthropist of the Year and Philanthropic Organisation of the Year gongs. Corporates and individuals were honoured for making a positive impact in the life of a girl child at the event.

Over the weekend, Dube officially opened a pharmacy in Gweru saying her venture into the industry was after realising that “without health there is no life.”

“I have over 21 business corporates but I have now realised that without investing in things that can make us all healthy there will be no significance in doing business. I am hopeful that this new business line will not only give me profit but go a long way in promoting healthy lives for our people especially those that live in rural areas like Shurugwi,” she said.

Dube has invested immensely in properties and mining in a development that has seen her receive great respect among women. She has also done philanthropic work in the Midlands- helping needy children and women willing to rise up and venture into business.
