NANGO implores Zimbabweans to maintain peace

Ahead of the presidential election challenge which will be heard at the Constitutional Court in Harare tomorrow, 22 August 2018, the National Association of Non-Governmental Organisations (NANGO) urges all Zimbabweans to maintain peace and to allow for the judicial system to administer justice according to law.

NANGO also calls upon political parties to restrain their supporters and dissuade them from instigating violence or responding violently. State security agents are also reminded to enforce law, prevent crime and respond in accordance with the law.

NANGO supports peaceful national processes and actively lobbies for prioritisation of the interests of women, children, youth, people with disabilities, the poor and other marginalised groups.

NANGO is a non-party political, non-profit making organisation and non-denominational official coordinating body of NGOs in Zimbabwe. It is mandated by its membership to coordinate the activities of NGOs, represent the NGO sector and strengthen the voice of NGOs in Zimbabwe.
