Zimbabwe Chess Foundation to Host chess tourney for the hearing impaired this Saturday

Zimbabwe Chess Foundation to host a chess tournament for the deaf and other disabled children who are able to play chess. This tournament comes at time when the Foundation Director Chenjerai Madamombe has introduced the game to these differently abled chess children.

We hope that as they play the tournament on the 16th of March more talent will be identified in these players and hope that one day they will be able to play the game with the other-abled chess players. The tournament Chief Arbiter will International Arbiter Simbarashe Murimi while the Tournament Director will be FA Elect Chenjerai Madamombe. The tournament has some very interesting prizes which include some tablets which were donated to the foundation by FA Farirai Gumbe who is now based in the United States of America. There will be lots of interesting prizes and so far almost twenty players have registered.

The registration is still open. Players are welcome from the differently abled chess players. Tose Sonke will also partner the foundation. Tafadzwa who leads Tose Sonke is very passionate about the spreading of the chess game to the differently abled chess players.

Her vision is to see them taking part at the highest level of competitions that is, the Chess Olympiads. This part of the community is generally overlooked opined, Madamombe and we hope they will turn up in their numbers.The prizes will also include medals, certificates and two tablets which were mentioned earlier. the tourney will be played at Face to Face Academy.
