Policy Brief Climate Change Management Bill in Zimbabwe

Climate change emergencies are a global tragedy on the planet causing serious humanitarian crisis and environmental damage

 The unmatched global warming which is expected to increase by 1.5 °C in the early 2030s will intensify multi-hazard disasters. If no appropriate action is quickly embraced, devastating humanitarian crisis will be doubled or trebled. The current information reflects that, 1 in every 33 people are already in dire need of urgent attention and security.2 As a result, most global nations are grouping and engaging in formulating and implementing appropriate Climate Action policies, laws, partnerships and programs and projects to mainstream adaptation and mitigation to minimize the worst effects of climate change. For effective results to be achieved, appropriate Climate Action needs to coordinated and harmonized from local levels, sub-national, national and regional feeding into the global actions, negotiations and agreements. Well-coordinated efforts and commitments will result in win-win scenarios characterized by reduction in greenhouse gases (GHG), environmental recovery and generation of accepted and sustainable renewable energy.
