Harare Province scooped 4 gold medals 3 Silver and one bronze medal. The team cemented their dominance in national chess championship. In second place was Midlands Province. They scooped 4 gold medals and 1 silver medal. Bulawayo came third winning 2 gold medals 2 Silver and 1 bronze. Mash West came fourth with one gold medal 2 silver and one bronze .
Masvingo came fifth position winning one gold medal, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. Matabeleland South came sixth winning 1 gold medal and 1 silver medal. Mash Central came seventh winning 1 gold medal and two bronze medals. Mash East, Mat North and Manicaland were the last three provinces. Mash East won 2 silver medals and 4 bronze medals, Mat North won 1 silver and two bronze medals while Manicaland scooped 1 silver and a bronze medal. Anashe Murinda of Harare won a gold medal in the under 20 girls category.
Ropafadzo Gwatidzo won the girls under 17 gold medal while Gerald Brain won the under 15 Boys category gold medal. There were some pulsating games played by the scholars. Tawanda Mhako of Mashonaland West won a gold medal in the under 20 boys category. The tournament produced some great results as well as upsets.
