Firstly, Comrade Mnangagwa claims to be a constitutionalist who has vowed not to be persuaded to stay in power beyond 2028. But it is rumored that he is the actual person who expressed the desire to stay beyond 2028 when he said “2030 ndinenge ndichipo” (I will still be around in 2030). At one rally he addressed, he commandeered ministers to do the slogan that he would still be in power in 2030, so it became more than just a rumor.
The constitution stipulates that an amendment to extend a term of office does not benefit the incumbent. As a self-acclaimed Constitutionalist, Comrade Mnangagwa should not agree to a term extension. However, it remains to be seen how things will pen out.
The Minister of Local Government who is responsible for issuing the land to legislators, Comrade. Daniel Garwe, is a proponent of the illegal term extension agenda. His decision, therefore, to allow new parliamentarians to be given land outside their constituencies is no doubt a way of bribing them to vote in favor of the 2030 agenda, or to vote against the hinted impeachment of President Mnangagwa.
My message to Comrade Garwe is to give land to legislators from 2013 who have not yet received their land. Follow the queue, and prioritize the families of legislators who have passed on. If they served parliament/senate, their dependants could be worse off than those of legislators who are still alive.
My message to the new legislators is they must be patient and wait for their turn in the queue. Accept land only from your constituency.
Those with ears will hear. To the people of Zimbabwe, tell your new MPs to wait for their turn. They must not be bribed to jump the queue.
